Krakow

The former Polish capital looks back on a
long and eventful history. Today, the old seat of the Polish kings is a modern
cultural and university city with a well-preserved historical city centre. The
Kazimierz quarter was home to an important Jewish community and is now
undergoing a renaissance as a cultural centre and place of remembrance.
The city partnership between Frankfurt and
Krakow has now been enriched to include a social dimension. This serves as the
basis for pooling knowledge on social issues. The citizens' exchange is not
limited exclusively to student exchanges. Choir tours are also organised and
the famous Krakow Philharmonic Orchestra has performed several concerts in
Frankfurt. Krakow also invited a Frankfurt fashion designer to present her
collection in the city.
