MOMEM – Museum of Modern Electronic Music

The Friends of MOMEM e.V. association introduced a new culture and music project: right in the heart of Frankfurt, the „MOMEM – Museum of Modern Electronic Music“ opened its doors to the public in April 2022.

A revolutionary new museum and exhibition concept allows visitors to immerse themselves fully in the history and development of electronic music. Frankfurt has been a pioneer and innovator in the fields of techno and house music and is well-respected in the international music business. The new museum’s initiators propose to show the development of electronic music in all its facets and influences in a way suited to visitors of all ages. Apart from visual documentation, the audience will also be able to immerse themselves in the experience through touch and, most of all, sound. The concept encompasses far more than a regular museum setting: readings and talks as well as events and guest performances by artists featured in the exhibition are also envisaged. In addition, DJs and producers will run workshops and seminars for the next generation in the affiliated academy and offer an in-depth look at working in a studio.
