Frankfurt's Christmas market on Römerberg, with its large Christmas tree and the stalls with Christmas treats and gifts is undoubtedly worth a visit during the Christmas season.
However, there are also a few other places in Frankfurt's city centre – smaller, but no less atmospheric – where you can enjoy roasted almonds, Bratwurst or mulled wine.
We have put together an overview of the multiple places of the Frankfurt Christmas Market.
Where: Roßmarkt, square in the inner city
What: At the Christmas market at Roßmarkt, the urban skyline is combined with a cosy Christmas atmosphere in a very special way: Hot mulled wine from the 16-metre-high Christmas pyramid, a ride on the Ferris wheel at the foot of the skyscrapers and, brand new this year, a selfie in the sparkling carriage in front of the Gutenberg monument. As in previous years, there is a small stage with a Christmas music programme.

Where: At the Hauptwache, centre of the city centre and one of the most famous squares in Frankfurt
What: There are many Christmas stalls to be found at the Hauptwache. Classic items such as Christmas ornaments and decorations or candles are on offer as well as modern arts and crafts.
When: 25 November to 22 December, Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 9 pm, Sunday from 11 am to 9 pm
Where: On Friedrich-Stoltze-Platz
What: It glows pink and pink from Friedrich-Stoltze-Platz. The quaint wooden huts serve hot cocktails and homemade soups, among other things. The Pink Christmas Market is also known for its vegetarian and vegan food. The entire square is lovingly decorated in pink with great attention to detail.

Where: At the Paulsplatz, in front of St. Paul's Church ("Paulskirche")
What: Framed by the backdrop of St Paul's Church you can find mulled wine and snack stalls, traditional Christmas-related products, such as Christmas tree decorations, nutcrackers and woodcarvings, or traditional clothing for the cold season, as well as a heated pub which provide the perfect setting to meet up with friends, family or colleagues.
When: 25 November to 22 December, Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 9 pm, Sunday from 11 am to 9 pm
Where: In the St Paul’s Church (“Paulskirche”) and the halls of the Römer (“Römerhallen”)
What: As part of the Frankfurt Christmas Market, Frankfurt artists will present some of their works in the Römerhallen. Along with the annual exhibition in St Paul's Church the Berufsverband Bildender Künstler Frankfurt offers a deep insight into the art scene in the greater Frankfurt area. Admission is free.
When: Exhibition in St Paul's Church: from 26 November to 21 December, daily from 12 pm to 8 pm.
Exhibition in the halls of the Römer: from 3 to 21 December, daily from 12 pm to 8 pm.
On 22 December, the Artists' Christmas Market closes at 6pm.
