Ei Gude! Welcome to Frankfurt
Frankfurt's welcome gift for new citizens
Every
year, the City of Frankfurt am Main welcomes thousands of new citizens with a hearty
“Ei Gude” (Frankfurt dialect for “Good day”).
Already
since 2012, newcomers to Frankfurt have received the guidebook “Ei Gude! Welcome to
Frankfurt” as a special welcome gift when they register at one of the eight citizens' offices (“Bürgeramter”). As of now, newcomers to Frankfurt will receive an updated edition of the approximately 100-page guidebook "Ei Gude! Welcome to Frankfurt" – in either German or English.
The
“Ei Gude” guide is intended to encourage you to explore your new hometown.
It
offers you comprehensive information in eight chapters:
In
addition to an overview of the city’s history, the around 100 pages contain
exciting tips on leisure activities as well as an overview of the diverse art
and cultural offerings.
It
also contains a compact summary of important information on education, work,
the economy, housing, health, mobility, family and senior citizens. In the
chapter "FRANKFURT FOR EXPERTS", newcomers can test how good their
Hessian and Frankfurt dialects are.
14
vouchers, exclusively included in the print edition, offer discounts for
museums, the Palmengarten, Frankfurt Zoo, the ice rink, Schauspiel Frankfurt,
swimming pools and much more.
The new "Ei Gude" books are handed out in the Citizens' Offices since November 2023.
