The Lord Mayor's Residents' Office has the following core tasks, in addition to some special tasks:

  • Dealing with enquiries, concerns, requests for assistance and complaints addressed directly to the Lord Mayor.
  • Advising citizens, informing them about the services offered by the City Administration, explaining responsibilities and procedures in the City Administration, and arranging contacts and contact persons in the relevant offices.
  • Organisation of the Lord Mayor's office hours for citizens
  • Organisation of the Lord Mayor's district and house visits
  • Processing requests addressed to the Lord Mayor for appointments, patronages and greetings
  • Appointment of representatives from the Magistrate for the Lord Mayor
The staff in the Residents' Office are there to help and advise you with your wishes and concerns. They direct you to municipal and non-municipal offices, help you get in touch with clerks and – as far as municipal matters are concerned – accept enquiries and suggestions, but also criticism and complaints. They do not make decisions themselves, but try to mediate in individual cases of disagreement between the citizens concerned and the Municipal Offices and to reach a citizen-friendly decision.
