Since Friday, 29 April, Frankfurt's city centre around the Hauptwache has been revived in the evening hours. Annette Rinn, head of the City's Public Order Department, has developed ideas together with the "Runder Tisch nächtliches Leben im Freien" (Round Table for Outdoor Nightlife) to help revitalise the city centre and capture the night owls in the Nordend squares such as Friedberger Platz, Luisenplatz, Merianplatz, Matthias-Beltz-Platz and the forecourt of the Kleinmarkthalle. That way, two goals can be achieved: On the one hand, it can help to calm down the residential areas there, especially at night, and on the other hand, it can make the city centre more attractive. Thereby, quality and also culture should be given special consideration.

"Food trucks, food and drink stalls and music from the new MOMEM (Museum of Modern Electronic Music) will hopefully make the new 'place to be' at the Hauptwache so attractive that people will retreat from the Nordend around 10pm and continue partying at the Hauptwache," says City Councillor Rinn.
