The District Central of the Registry Office Frankfurt am Main is located on the fourth floor of the so-called “Römer Südbau” at Bethmannstraße 3, in the 600-year-old building with the two prominent towers “Langer Franz” and “Kleiner Kohn”.
If you live in the city centre or in one of the southern, northern or eastern districts, then the Registry Office District Central ("Standesamtsbezirk Mitte") is your point of contact.
The wedding hall Römer is located on the second floor of the main building Römerberg 23.
General Information for Ordering a Certificate
The Registry Office in Frankfurt am Main only issues civil status certificates in cases where the event took place in Frankfurt am Main.
So if you were not born in Frankfurt am Main, please contact the Registry Office of your place of birth or country of birth.
The same applies to marriage or death certificates. Please also contact the Registry Office of the place of marriage or death.
