Service description

Since 2010, Frankfurt has offered the 115 Citizens Service – a hotline available via landline and mobile networks at local or flat rates

115 – There to help you in all matters involving the authorities

Where can I re-register after my move? How long will I receive parental allowance? How do I register a business? Where can I register my dog? What do I need to apply for a new identification card? Where can I get married in Frankfurt? How much does a driver's licence from the age of 17 cost? There is an endless number of questions that can be addressed to the authorities – and the telephone number you need to get them answered is: 115. With 115 in Frankfurt, the often tiresome search for the right office is now a thing of the past. So save yourself time and just give us a quick call. We are there for you Monday to Friday from 8 am to 6 pm.

115 – Your direct line to the office

You will not find answering machines, long holding periods on the phone or robotic voices with us. With our service centre, you will always be connected to the right place. Here, 34 friendly and experienced employees of the Frankfurt am Main Citizens' Office ("Bürgeramt") are waiting for your call. Our service staff can answer most of your questions directly without the need to transfer you elsewhere. The 115 service thus impressively demonstrates how a customer-friendly, modern and efficient telephone-based citizens’ service can be organised.

Here, administration is innovative

The City of Frankfurt am Main has offered this 115 telephone service for interacting with the authorities since March 2010. It is also available for many other Hessian municipalities, such as the city and district of Offenbach, the district of Groß-Gerau, Friedberg (Hesse), Butzbach, Niederdorfelden, Gelnhausen and Linsengericht, as well as other municipalities in the Main-Kinzig district. In total, the 115 service is accessible to over 1.2 million citizens in the Rhine-Main area. The 115 service is thus a practical example of effective e-government and cooperation in the region.

The service promise of 115

115 is available from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 6 pm. All telephone calls are answered quickly and personally by municipal employees. More than half of the calls are answered directly - without having to transfer the call to another authority.
